Lotus 98T 1986

The type 98T was designed by Gerard Ducarouge and powered by a Renault 1.5l Turbo engine. The engine broke new ground with it's pneumatic valve system but was too thirsty for the restricted fuel regulations.  Senna took eight pole positions and scored a memorably close win over Mansell in Spain.

Pictures are of chassis number 4, currently owned by Peter Ratcliffe.
