| This car was
photographed in my local Mercedes dealer's showroom. According to local press articles it is the race spare from the 2000 season. While it does not appear to be a plastic replica 'show' car there are a couple of points which make me suspicious. The main one is the fuel filler flaps which appear to just be moulded seams in the body- work. It could be that they are just an amazing fit ! The tyres are marked 'Mclaren show' which is not unreasonable on a car being used for promotional work. The exhausts are just plastic pipe mounted on a blanking plate, the lack of an engine is understandable. There is a chassis plate inside the cockpit but I can't make out the chassis number. The rather
odd 'image 10' is a shot inside the side pod |
